Being in love with a zombie bites, but that won’t stop true love. Can it? Horror High School: Return of the Loving Dead is unlike any zombie book you’ve ever read. Meet Amber Vanderkamp, senior at Stephen E. King High School. Amber is poised to be class valedictorian when she graduates this year and has her sights set on the New York Center for the Performing Arts for college. Everything is wonderful in Amber's world. She always gets the lead in her high school's plays and is counting on the lead role in the school’s upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet. That is until her well-ordered world is thrown into chaos when her boyfriend, Zach, dies and comes back as a zombie. But how can she turn her back on the love of her life? How does she deal with the pressure? And will she remain committed to the boy she once considered her soul mate? Especially when her mother (with secrets of her own) is encouraging her to wait and experience more of the world. And her flighty best friend, Jasmine, is acting more peculiar than ever since Zach has become a member of the undead club. Add in the class bullies, Caleb and Darla, who seem to be doing everything in their power to ruin Amber's life and everything is here for a page-turning romp through a world where zombies are a part of everyday life.

REVIEWS FROM AMAZON

Loved it – May 17, 2014 – 5.0 out of 5 stars
I received a complimentary copy to read and review. Great book. I couldn’t put it down. I love the twists and turns that are in it. Amber is a high school girl who sees her boyfriend get bitten and then turned into a zombie. She becomes his guardian and her mother doesn’t like it neither does his father. With the on and off help from her friend Jasmine she tries to keep him out of trouble. She finds out some things about her parents that leave her stunned and wondering what to do next. I highly recommend it to everyone. It’s a fun read. I look forward to reading more books by both authors. By sjledge2

Homage. – May 17, 2014 – 4.0 out of 5 stars
Stan Swanson and Araminta Star Matthew’s Return of the Loving Dead is packed with witty humor and legitimate suspense. While covering realistic aspects of normal high school drama, Loving Dead livens things up by kicking you in the groin with ultra-zombie action. With countless nods to classic horror films, I recommend this novel to any fan of zombie fiction–alive or otherwise. By Max

A fun-to-read story! – May 11, 2014 – 5.0 out of 5 stars
What do you do when somebody keeps trying to kill your boyfriend, even though he’s already dead? I enjoyed this book because it contains an actual, well-plotted mystery and humor, not just guts and blood and teenage angst, though there’s plenty of that, too. Young readers will engage with the book’s valiant main characters; the serious over-achiever who always tries to do the right thing and her kooky and curious best friend who is searching for her real self through an amazing series of changes. Well written, with unusual, fun situations and plot twists, and interesting characters that we’ll want to see again! Bring on the next book in this series! By Frances A. Hogg

Horrifically Hilarious, Ecstatically Exciting – May 8, 2014 – 5.0 out of 5 stars
DELIGHTFULLY refreshing! Finally, a YA paranormal- apocalyptic that keeps the drama where it belongs, in the background, settings, and plotting. Forget the high school drama divas; forget the teenage angst! This is serious business, a story I could not put aside. Well-written, humorous, realistic: the novel let me suspend from the very first page, as it should be. BRING ON THE SEQUEL!!! Love with the “living impaired” rocks!
I was delighted to review an ARC provided by the publisher for the sole purpose of my review. No fees were exchanged. By Mallory Anne-Marie Haws
